Melissa Moya

Founder/Executive Director

The founder and executive director, Melissa started Lyme Fight to make a difference in the Lyme community. Because of her own struggles with the disease, she wants to positively contribute to the care, support, awareness, and advocacy of Lyme Disease. She believes that Lyme is misunderstood, often misdiagnosed, and in need of strong advocacy. Melissa is not only a Lyme advocate, but is also a relator of with 16 years of experience, an avid runner, and exercise Greek.

Cynthia Vallarino – Schauer

Chief Medical Advisor/Founding Member

Cyndi Vallarino, is a molecular geneticist by training. She has over 15 years of working in private sector focusing on cancer research. Much of research she has been involved in focuses on immunotherapy. When Cyndi is not volunteering she is riding horses, being an amazing mom and running.

Liz Jorgensen

Chief Operating Officer/Founding Member

When Liz isn’t volunteering with the foundation, she can be hiking, biking or crating with her husband and daughters. By day Liz works as an operations director in the software industry. Her philanthropic endeavors include founding a trade show for expectant moms and literary partnering with child heart patients and child cancer patients and families.

Cathy Brady

Treasurer/Founding Member

Cathy Brady, CPA, is Lyme Fights chief treasurer. Her passion for numbers compliance and statutory regulations make her the perfect fit for the foundation. In her free time Cathy loves cheering on her husband’s band, being a great mom to her sons, and volunteering or Lyme Fight.

Alexandria “Allie” Moya

Teen Ambassador


Allie joined the foundation as our first teen ambassador when she was a sophomore at Christian Brothers High School. She is now our first ambassador and a Freshman at Lewis & Clark College majoring in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology with a Minor in Health Studies. She will also be on the cross country and track & field team. She will continue helping us spread awareness of Lyme Disease with those at her school, clubs, as well as educating peers.
